  • About the Artist

  • Charleston's harbor presents a great escape for anyone of any age to kick back and catch a sea breeze, observe sailing vessels, or be entertained by resident dolphins. This is known as the "Lowcountry" - a wonderful venue for photographers and artists alike. My dream in becoming a serious artist became a reality shortly after moving into the Lowcountry in 2003.

I've had no formal art background as I tend to be a self-taught artist. My talent originates from my family's artistic roots, and I am merely an off-shoot from that origin. As a child I "took pictures" and drew friends portraits and painted animals. As an adult I created garden structures, built wood furniture, experimented with faux wall finishes, furniture upholstering, room & wall decorating, and painted murals both indoors and out. Today I still paint with acrylics, but my passion has grown in digital photography. Favorite subjects are animals, sea and landscapes, and architectural closeups. My experience as a historic house staff photographer shooting repetitive scenes challenged me to focus from different angles.

My work is seen in local galleries and special art exhibitions. I enjoy volunteering for local organizations and events.
